When the First Order succeeded the Empire, Luke Skywalker had been gone for years. After a fierce search, the Resistance seemed to have found a map to locate him. Poe Dameron, one of the best insurgent pilots, and his droid BB-8 went to Jakku to find an old friend of the Resistance who was to give them the map leading to the Jedi Master.
The eruption of the First Order forced Poe and BB-8 to separate. The pilot was taken prisoner but the droid managed to escape. As he roamed the Jakku Desert, he met a young wreck robber who played a crucial role in what happened next.[1]
