The TSMEU-6 personal wheel bike, also known simply as the TSMEU-6 wheel bike, or wheel bike, was a model of personal wheel bike manufactured by the Z-Gomot Ternbuell Guppat Corporation. During the Clone Wars, one was owned by Kaleesh droid leader General Grievous while others were used by BX-series droid commandos and IG-100 MagnaGuards.
Characteristics
Wheel bike control panel.
The military vehicle's steering controls are housed in an illuminated, touch-sensitive console that—in the case of General Grievous' TSMEU-6 Wheel Bike—were been strengthened to withstand General Grievous' keen metal fingertips. The color perception of Grievous' species, the Kaleesh, eyesight is changed in the console graphic display.[5] The TSMEU-6 personal wheel bike,[1] also known simply as the TSMEU-6 wheel bike,[3] or the wheel bike,[6] was a descendant of the InterGalactic Banking Clan's hoop-wheeled Hailfire droids, which are designed to roll at intimidating speed on hard surfaces. On Grievous' personal wheel bike, the seat's soft padding was removed as it was unnecessary for Grievous's purposes. Its place has been taken by magnetic panels that held Grievous' metallic body to the vehicle.[5]
The bike had four retractable legs that allowed it to climb steep inclines and was armed with a double laser cannon.[1] On his personal wheel bike, Grievous could wield either a conveniently placed electrostaff, a blaster, or one of his Jedi lightsabers trophies when he rolls into battle.[5] It proved popular in mining areas, as it facilitated long-distance underground travel over a variety of terrains.[1] In the Separatist Droid Army, TSMEU-6 wheel bikes were fielded as cavalry that provided speed and ferocity on the frontline, with the vehicles being operated by BX-series droid commandos and IG-100 MagnaGuards.[7]
History
General Grievous used his wheel bike during the Battle of Utapau.
TSMEU-6 personal wheel bikes were used by members of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. On one occasion, an IG-100 MagnaGuard and BX-series droid commando both rode TSMEU-6 wheel bikes over a rocky environment.[3] General Grievous himself made use of a wheel bike, debuting his TSMEU-6 at the Battle of Parein II 4[8] and once using it to chase down an All Terrain Reconnaissance Transport-riding ARF Trooper.[3] Grievous also used his wheel bike during the invasion of Utapau.[9] Sometime later, the Confederacy had at least three TSMEU-6s in their possession inside of a modified core ship on Utapau. Grievous used one of these during the Battle of Utapau[2] in 19 BBY. In 0 ABY,[10] a wrecked wheel bike was amongst the piles of wreckages in the refuse fields of the moon Cymoon 1, where the Galactic Empire had established use of Weapons Factory Alpha.[11]
