The strike in the Ossiathora system was a system-wide strike[1] in 228 BBY[2] that prevented a grain harvested in[1] the Mid Rim's[3] Ossiathora system from being collected. The conflict became of interest to the Galactic Republic, as the grain was used to distill an alcohol that deglazed engines trapped in the Tyus sector's Pyrlix Miasma.[1]
That year,[2] Republic Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh received reports about the strike, briefly considering the vast effects it could have. Her reports also included a bulletted list of potential responses to the issue, each containing enough details to make a system-wide impact. However, before she could investigate further, her attention was diverted after learning that the Nihil marauders' leader, Marchion Ro, intended to visit her on the planet Coruscant following his fight against several Jedi on the planet Vixoseph I.[1]
Behind the scenes
The strike in the Ossiathora system was mentioned in the 2024 novel Temptation of the Force, written by Tessa Gratton and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III.[4]

- ↑ 2.0 2.1 2.2 Star Wars: Timelines dates Starlight Beacon's destruction to 230 BBY. The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic: Temptation of the Force takes place one year and six weeks after the destruction of Starlight Beacon and its events span a few months, it must be set in 228 BBY. As the strike in the Ossiathora system occurs concurrent to the novel's main events, it must take place in the same year.
