Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace 1 was the first issue in the Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace comic adaptation series of comics. It was released May 5, 1999 and tells approximately the first half-hour of the film up to Darth Sidious introducing Darth Maul to Nute Gunray (which is depicted as taking place after Qui-Gon Jinn announces heading towards Tatooine).
