"Son of a bantha," or sometimes "son-of-a-bantha," was a disparaging phrase used throughout the galaxy, serving both as an exclamation and an insult.

History

"Son-of-a-bantha, who dealt this mess?"

Zabrak surgeon Zan Yant exclaimed the phrase "son-of-a-bantha" in frustration when dealt a poor hand in sabacc.[2]

Writer Keets Freely referred to Bog Divinian as a "son of a bantha."[3]

Imperial gunner Tenn Graneet mentally exclaimed "son of a bantha" when coming face to face with Darth Vader on the Death Star.[4]

Aminni exclaimed "son of a bantha" upon discovering that her datapad had been stolen from her.[5]

During an interview with the Imperial Security Bureau regarding fellow smuggler Boshek, the ZeHethbra named Clyngunn remarked that "that son of a bantha" had more arrest warrants than Clyngunn had fur on his face.[1]
