"You must be sure to visit the Skydome Botanical Gardens. The Mysess blossoms are in full bloom and, oh, my, oh, my, are they something to see."

The Skydome Botanical Gardens were a set of gardens in Galactic City, the ecumenopolis that covered[1] the Core Worlds[2] planet Coruscant.[1] Around 9 ABY,[3] a taxi droid driving from the Galaxies Opera House to Amnesty Housing on Coruscant advised its fare, new-comer to Coruscant Doctor Penn Pershing, to visit the gardens, explaining that the Mysess blossoms there were in bloom and were a sight to behold.[1]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Skydome Botanical Gardens were mentioned in "Chapter 19: The Convert," the third episode of the Disney+ show The Mandalorian's third season,[1] which aired on March 15, 2023.[4] The gardens originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they first appeared in Kevin J. Anderson's 1994 novel, Jedi Search.[5] It was then depicted for the first time in Legends on a map in Coruscant and the Core Worlds, a 2003 roleplaying supplement for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game produced by Wizards of the Coast.[6]

In addition, SWInsider "A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 also dates "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Timelines. "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" takes place after the conflict on Mandalore, which is the main event depicted in "Chapter 23: The Spies" and "Chapter 24: The Return," the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season Three. Therefore, Seasons One through Three of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, the latter of which includes "Chapter 19: The Convert," must all be set in 9 ABY as well.
