- "It's Geth's. He didn't know. I was going to tell him once we got back from Planet X. I've been thinking of names as I've been trying to get this wreck shipshape. Geth if it's a boy, obviously. Mari if it's a girl."
"Mari?"
"My mom's name. Mine too, actually, although I never liked it, until now." - ―Shea Ganandra and Yana Ro
A female individual was the daughter[1] of the humans[3] Geth and Shea Ganandra, who conceived the baby[2] by 382 BBY. That year,[4] Ganandra and Geth were members of the Path of the Open Hand cult and Geth was believed lost during a mission to recover eggs of the Nameless—creatures which fed on Force-sensitives. He had not known he had a child as the woman had planned to tell him of her pregnancy after the mission.[2]
After the Night of Sorrow that year, Ganandra left the Path to raise her child.[1] When she met with Yana Ro—an Evereni female she had served with in the Path—Ganandra rubbed her belly, revealing her pregnancy to Ro, and told her the baby was Geth's. She then informed Ro of her intent to call the baby Geth if it was a boy, and Mari if a girl—the latter because it was her mother's name and her own.[2] Ganandra eventually gave birth to a daughter.[1]
