The Setar system was located in the Inner Cluster[3] of the Inner Rim Territories[1] and the Interior[2] in grid square O-11 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] It was home to[5] the sentient Setaran species.[4]
Behind the scenes
The Setar system was first mentioned in Pablo Hidalgo's 2025 reference book Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Visual Guide on a galaxy map authored by Jason Fry and Christopher Ibbitt.[1] The October 14, 2025 update to[6] "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[3] on June 24 of the same year—with both works being authored by Fry[7]—subsequently identified the system by name.[3]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats the the Setar system as the location of one such homeworld with regard to the Setaran species.
