The Scatalpen was the podracer of the Aleena pilot Ratts Tyerell. Equipped with twin Vokoff-Strood Titan 2150 rocket engines, it was named for a deadly predator from Tyerell's homeworld,[1] Aleen.[2] Tyerell used the vehicle in the Boonta Eve Classic race[1] of 32 BBY[3] on the planet Tatooine. The Scatalpen was destroyed during the race when the Aleena fatally crashed[4] in the Laguna Caves.[5]

Behind the scenes

The Scatalpen first appeared in the 1999 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.[4] In the current Star Wars canon, the vehicle was first identified in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Complete Vehicles.[6]
