The scatalpen was a deadly predator from[2] the planet Aleen.[1] The Aleena podracer Ratts Tyerell named the vehicle he used in[2] the 32 BBY[3] Boonta Eve Classic race after the creature.[2]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the scatalpen was first mentioned in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Complete Vehicles.[4] The creature originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was mentioned in the 2002 reference book The New Essential Guide to Characters by Daniel Wallace.[5]
