Sason was a backwater gas giant in the Outer Rim Territories that was the site of a Jedi prison known as the Sason Temple. During the Clone Wars, the Jedi Masters Shaak Ti and Aayla Secura visited the Sason Temple and, many years later, during the Imperial Era, the rogue archeologist Chelli Lona Aphra and the Jedi Luke Skywalker traveled to Sason in search of the temple's secrets.

Description

Sason was a planet located in the Outer Rim Territories that was a gas giant. It was a dangerous planet that was prone to magnetic storms, which would cause any starships navigating its atmosphere to lose navigation, comms, targeting systems, and any other processes. A backwater world, Sason hosted a Jedi Temple that also served as a Jedi prison.[1]

History

During the Clone Wars, the Jedi Masters Shaak Ti and Aayla Secura visited the Sason Temple and discovered a Starweird, a dangerous creature that resonated with the Force. Together, they managed to imprison the Starweird inside the temple.[4] Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[5] the rogue archaeologist Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra traveled to the temple and recruited the Jedi-in-training Luke Skywalker[6] to accompany her, with the promise of a Jedi artifact he could use to gain an advantage over the Sith Lord Darth Vader.[1] Skywalker and Aphra ended up accidentally released the Starweird that had been trapped inside the temple. Skywalker and Aphra defeated the creature after a difficult confrontation.[4]

Same galaxy, same map. In the rare event something needs to be changed, it will be discussed. (In response to: Hi @jasoncfry.bsky.social, was hoping you could confirm for Wookieepedia purposes that the hyperspace routes depicted on the Galaxy Map given out at Celebration are intended to be the same routes as in Legends. Sorry to bother, but would make our lives much easier to have it confirmed!)" (screenshot).
