The Salissians were a social group[2] originating from[1] the Outer Rim's[3] Salissia system[1] that was active in the galaxy during the Republic Era. During the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Salissian special forces were a group that Magistrate Passel Argente of the Corporate Alliance hired to fight for the Separatists' Corporate Alliance Policy Administration Directorate.[2]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, Salissians were mentioned in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars roleplaying products.[2] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Salissians were a social group of humans who first appeared in the 2004 novel MedStar I: Battle Surgeons, which was written by Michael Reaves and Steve Perry.[4]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Salissians in relation to Salissia system.
