- "For years, every time I walk down Rix Road, I turn off before I get to the square. I take the long way around so I don't have to think about Clem hanging there!"
- ―Maarva Andor to her son Cassian
Rix Road was the main street of Ferrix City on the planet Ferrix, running through its heart.[3] It began in the junction of two smaller streets in Ferrix City right below the Ferrix bell tower, passed by a large hotel and culminated on the Fountain Square, where the funeral service of upstanding citizens would be conducted and their final message broadcasted during the "Stone to the Sky" ceremony.[4] During the early Imperial Era, an anti-Imperial protest occurred on the street while clone troopers marched through the town. Following the protest, it was also where executions by hanging would be performed by the Galactic Empire, such as the execution of Clem Andor[5] in 19 BBY.[6] In 5 BBY[7] the practice remained in effect, and and Captain Vanis Tigo ordered for Salman Paak to be publicly executed that way.[8] Three days later, during Maarva Carassi Andor's funeral service, Tigo would interrupt her final message due to anti-Imperial speech, prompting a violent response from attending Daughters of Ferrix and kickstarting a massive riot.[4]
Behind the scenes
Rix Road was first mentioned in an official clip in Andor: A Disney+ Day Special Look, a documentary about the making of the Star Wars: Andor television series,[9] which was released on Disney+ on September 8, 2022.[10]

- ↑ Star Wars: Dawn of Rebellion: The Visual Guide states that Cassian Jeron Andor was arrested for confronting Imperials in 19 BBY. As seen in "Announcement," that attack was preceded by the Rix Road protest of the Imperial Era: as the Galactic Empire is formed in 19 BBY according to Dawn of Rebellion, the protest occurs in 19 BBY by virtue of occurring after the formation of the Empire but before Andor's arrest.
