In 3 ABY,^[2] Kay Vess' crew, under the command and support of Crimson Dawn, began an operation to rescue the explosive expert Ank Parako. The Crimson Dawn leader Qi'ra, along with the associate Krisk Ashiga, requested Kay Vess to infiltrate the Ashiga weapons factory as a part of their plot in taking over the Ashiga Clan. With the aid from Crimson Dawn, Vess was able to successfully infiltrate and extract Parako from the factory.^[1]
