Reindeer were a type of deer that lived in the galaxy. When delivering presents to children around the galaxy on Christmas,[1] the Jedi Knight[2] Santa Claus and his son S. Claus rode on a sleigh pulled by eight reindeer. These eight reindeer were: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder, and Blixem. While working in a droid toy factory, the protocol droid C-3PO watched as Santa loaded presents onto his sleigh and commanded his eight reindeer to pull his sleigh.[1]

Behind the scenes

Reindeer were mentioned in Christmas in the Stars,[1] a non-canon 1980 Christmas album produced by RSO Records that featured Star Wars–themed Christmas songs.[3] In the real world, reindeer are large-hoofed deer often associated with Santa Claus and Christmas.[4]
