- "Ya know, I think you have me confused with Santa Claus. I'm his son, S. Claus. There are far too many children in the galaxy for one Claus to handle, so I help him bring toys to all the children."
- ―S.Claus explaining his presence to the workers of a droid toy factory
S. Claus was a humanoid who was the son of Santa Claus, an individual who traveled around the galaxy on Christmas each year to deliver toys to children who he deemed as "good." When Santa eventually became unable to deliver all the gifts by himself, he enlisted the help of S. Claus to get the job done. While doing so, he wore a red suit similar to that of which his father wore. During his first year on the job, S. Claus visited a toy factory operated by droids. While at the factory, he explained the meaning of Christmas to droids R2-D2 and C-3PO.[1]
Behind the scenes
S. Claus was first mentioned in Christmas in the Stars,[1] a non-canon 1980 Christmas album produced by RSO Records which featured Star Wars-themed Christmas songs.[2] The role of S. Claus was originally intended to be Yoda. However due to scheduling conflicts, the voice of Yoda Frank Oz was unable to participate, thus the character S. Claus was created.[3]
