Regal Voyager cases were carrying cases produced by SecuriCase and utilized by Regal Voyager, a passenger line that operated in the Slice, for the transportation of items, available for renting by passengers. The valises featured a code phrase–activated locking system as well as interior plating and electronic countermeasures that prevented scanners from detecting the contents. If the cases were not returned by the passenger a week after their flight's arrival, the locks would prevent the case from being opened. Regal Voyager operated a hub facility on depot where the cases were disinfected and serviced before being distributed for use on the company's routes. Zilastra, the leader of the Riftwalkers pirate gang, discovered the cases after killing a courier carrying one and being unable to open it. She subsequently devised a scheme to kill the leaders of the Slice's other gangs that involved the Regal Voyager cases.[1]
