- "Come on in here before Rascal there decides to take a nibble of your Padawan's braid. They seem cute and cuddly, but they have a mean streak a kilometer wide."
- ―Nyla Quinn, to Vernestra Rwoh
Rascal was a tooka who lived at the Jedi temple on the Outer Rim planet Dalna during the High Republic Era. In 230 BBY, Rascal and the temple's other tookas were at the temple's entrance when Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh and her apprentice, Jedi Padawan Imri Cantaros, arrived on a mission. Cantaros was excited to see the cats and cradled Rascal. When they relocated inside, Jedi Knight Yacek Sparkburn arrived carrying a bag of moon fish, prompting Rascal and the other tookas to swarm him.
After the Nihil pirates devastated Dalna, the planet was evacuated by the Jedi Order and Galactic Republic, with the temple's tookas, including Rascal, being sent to live in new homes. As he lived on the Outer Rim planet Aricho in 228 BBY, Sparkburn missed the tookas, but knew they were in happy homes.
Biography
Life on Dalna
- "Someone smells the moon fish I bought."
- ―Yacek Sparkburn, to the Dalna temple's tooka cats

Rascal was a tooka cat who lived at the Jedi Order's temple on[1] the Outer Rim[2] planet Dalna during the High Republic Era.[1] In 230 BBY,[3] when Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh and her apprentice, Jedi Padawan Imri Cantaros, arrived at the temple to investigate kidnappings carried out by the Nihil pirates, Rascal and the temple's other tookas were present at the temple's entrance. Cantaros was excited to see the cats.[1]
Jedi Master Nyla Quinn[1]—the lead Jedi of the temple[4]—then arrived at the entrance to greet the Jedi and told Rwoh to enter the temple. As she did, she gestured over to Cantaros, who was cradling Rascal and cooing to the tooka, and warned Rwoh that the tooka may begin to nibble on his Padawan braid. After the Jedi made their way inside the temple, Jedi Knight Yacek Sparkburn appeared carrying bags of items and the tookas all flocked to him, wailing piteously. The situation caused Sparkburn to laugh, and he stated that the cats must have smelled the moon fish he had brought with him.[1]
A new home
- "Every time we come here I miss the tookas from the temple back on Dalna. I know they're all in happy homes now, but there is nothing like waking up to a creature using your chest to test out its claws."
- ―Yacek Sparkburn, to Imri Cantaros

During the Jedi's investigation on Dalna, the Nihil triggered massive volcanic eruptions and groundquakes using a crystal matrix tied into the planet's crust,[1] devastating Dalna,[6] resulting in the Galactic Republic and Jedi carrying out an evacuation of the planet to an emergency shelter on Hansibel Island.[1] Eventually,[5] Rascal,[1] and the rest of the Dalna temple's tooka's were sent to live in new homes.[5]
In 228 BBY,[7] Sparkburn and Cantaros resided on[5] the Outer Rim[8] planet Aricho, and Sparkburn was reminded of the Dalna temple's tookas each time they visited a tavern named the Blue Tooka, which had a number of tookas living in it. When the two visited the tavern one day, Sparkburn informed Cantaros of his remembrance of the tookas, stating that while he knew they were in happy homes after being evacuated from Dalna, there was nothing that compared to one of the tooka's testing their claws on his chest.[5]
Personality and traits
According to Nyla Quinn, while the Dalna temple's tookas looked "cute and cuddly," they were also mischievous, which she noted to Vernestra Rwoh when Imri Cantaros was cradling Rascal.[1]
Skills and abilities
- "Tookas are great at keeping the pests out of the temple."
- ―Yacek Sparkburn
