Rango Tan was a planet located in the galaxy, home to an indigenous pre-hyperdrive species of bipedal sentients known as the Rangan. It had a population of 45 million, which was made up of three major civilizations. Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin of the Galactic Empire ran a simulation of the Death Star firing at the planet to test the reactions of the Imperial gunners.[2]
