Querm Rybet was a sentient amphibian species.
Biology and appearance
A female of the species soaking in a hot spring
The Querm Rybet[4] was an amphibious species, capable of breathing both air and water. Their skin color could be pink[1] or bluish-green.[2] When inside an egg they were a dark orange. The species was capable of and often engaged in bipedal locomotion, but they could hop, which allowed them to move faster. They also had long tongues which could be used to grab things quickly.[1]
Querm Rybets' eggs could not travel in hyperspace, as it would kill them.[1]
The Querm Rybets shared a name with the Rybets, another frog-like sentient amphibious species.[5]
Society and culture
They laid eggs in which more frogs were born. The eggs needed to be fertilized by a male. These eggs were edible by Yoda's species.[1] After hatching, tadpoles would emerge from the egg. The tadpoles would start to form arms and legs and take on an orange color as well as tiny spikes on their backs.[2] At least two members of the species spoke Frog, which involved the use of clicks and groans. It could also be learned and spoken by Humans; Peli Motto was able to speak the language.[1]
History
In 9 ABY,[6] a frog nicknamed "Frog Lady" was attempting to get to Trask, where her husband found a place to live.[1] They eventually made it to the moon where they resided in their home.[2]
In 34 ABY,[7] a Querm Rybet visited the Creature Stall on Batuu.[8]
