Qieg were a type of creature that lived on[1] the Outer Rim Territories[2] astronomical object Lan Barell in hives.[1] In 382 BBY,[3] when Jedi Knight Gella Nattai visited the cemetery of the Rook—the Outer Rim planet E'ronoh's capital city—she mentally compared the tall structures there to a Qieg hive on Lan Barell.[1]
Behind the scenes
Qieg were mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in Convergence, a 2022 novel written by Zoraida Córdova as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase II.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the sentient insectoid Qieg were first introduced in "Lan Barell," an informational article published in the West End Games magazine Star Wars Adventure Journal 1. The article was written by Paul Sudlow, illustrated by Tim Eldred, and published in February 1994.[4]
