- "Apparently, he sells these incredible critters that everyone wants. Well, most people. Okay, so it was one guy on Port Yonder, but he said they're gonna be the next big thing come Life Day."
- ―Han Solo, on Bralem Mopak and Hoojibs
Port Yonder, also simply known as Yonder, was a terrestrial astronomical object. During the High Republic Era, after being poisoned by Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro[3] in 231 BBY,[4] Pan Eyta, former Tempest Runner of the Nihil marauders, found an unhygienic medic on Port Yonder who equipped him with a ventilator in order to survive.[5] Later that year,[4] when confronting fellow Tempest Runner Lourna Dee on the planet Arbra, Eyta mentioned the medic on Port Yonder.[5]
During the Imperial Era,[3] the smuggler[6] Han Solo encountered an individual on Port Yonder who mentioned the trader Bralem Mopak, who sold members of the Hoojib species as animals on Arbra.[3] Between around 5 BBY and 0 BBY,[7] Solo noted the man's claims to his associate,[3] the Wookiee Chewbacca,[6] when deciding to acquire a Hoojib for[3] the crime lord[6] Jabba the Hutt in order to gain his favor.[3]
Behind the scenes
Port Yonder was first mentioned in the audio drama The High Republic: Tempest Runner, written by Cavan Scott[5] and released on August 31, 2021 as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia initiative's Phase I.[8] The spelling of its name was confirmed in the comic story "The Hoojib Menace," also written by Scott and published in that year's annual issue of IDW Publishing's 2020 Star Wars Adventures series[3] on November 24, 2021.[9]
