Owls were non-sentient avian creatures.^[1] Types of owls included convorees^[2] and snow owls, which could be found on the Core Worlds planet Alderaan in the snowy area surrounding the mountain Appenza Peak.^[1] The helmet of the Mandalorian Bo-Katan Kryze incorporated the face of an owl.^[3]

In canon, owls first appeared in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars third-season episode "Padawan Lost."^[5] The first-ever appearance of an owl in Star Wars was in the 1984 television film Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure, though it was never canonically identified as such in any Legends source.^[6]
