Snow owls were a non-sentient type of owl that lived in the area surrounding the Appenza Peak mountain on the Core Worlds planet Alderaan. The avian creatures were known to reside in the knotholes of trees and could endure cold weather.[1] In 3 BBY,[2] the Apprentice Legislator Amilyn Holdo looked for snow owls while on a pathfinding excursion with her friends. The Alderaanian Apprentice Legislator Kier Domadi questioned his peer about why she was seeking the avians but eventually accepted her reasoning that there was no reason she should cease her search.[1]
