Ottethan was an astronomical object[3] located in the Ottethan system within the Halthor sector of the Outer Rim[1] and New Territories.[2] It was situated in grid square M-6 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] Ottethan was one of the homeworlds[3] of the semi-sentient[4] rancor species, along with Felucia[3] and Dathomir.[5]

Behind the scenes

Ottethan was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the 2019 young-readers reference book Star Wars: Creatures vs. Aliens written by Pablo Hidalgo.[3] The planet Ottethan was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity in 1992 via Dark Empire 3, the third issue of the Star Wars: Dark Empire series of comic books written by Tom Veitch.[6]
