Orlut was a Lyrobru cyborg employed by the slicer Syreth Dunn as part of his Corporate Sector crew during the High Republic Era. She was arrested along with other members of the crew and placed in a cell on the DTE-CSA-17 Calaboose prison ship Palwick in 132 BBY.
The crew was able to escape from the starship in the Carlac belt by exploiting a flaw in the prison ship's droid crew and ejecting in an escape pod. Orlut and the rest of the prisoners were then recaptured and detained in a holding cell in a holding cell in the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant.
Biography
Orlut was a Lyrobru cyborg who was a part of the slicer Syreth Dunn's crew of lowlifes in the Corporate Sector during the High Republic Era. She was kept in the slicer's employ due to credits she owed the slicer for software upgrades and ended up arrested alongside him and other members of the crew. Due for processing by the Detention Task Force, she was placed on board the DTE-CSA-17 Calaboose prison ship Palwick[1] in a cell with Dunn and several other members of the crew[2] in 132 BBY.[3]
The cell next to Orlut and Dunn's was occupied by the meknek Verosha Aniseya, who it was rumored had killed a Jedi. As such a feat was unheard of among the other prisoners, they were impressed and Dunn so attempted to recruit her into a plan to escape the prison ship. Once she refused, Dunn commenced the plan anyway, which began with the[2] Hybroid Rott Mercer exploiting a flaw in the starship's droid crew[1] that deactivated the variable geometry droid pilots and caused the ship to exit hyperspace[2] in the Carlac belt. The prisoner Shorwilt Tor Bez'lin[1] then destroyed the warden droid and opened the crews' cell using the droid's arm. Leaving Aniseya and the incapacitated prisoner[2] Melo Tolicus,[1] Orlut and the others then packed into an escape pod and ejected from the ship.[2]
Orlut and the other escapees weres soon recaptured and placed behind a force field in a holding cell on the detainment level of the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant. When the Jedi Master Sol passed by the cell, Dunn and Bez'lin yelled out that the that the entire prison break had been Aniseya's idea and that their group had not done anything. Sol continued on to the adjacent cell where Tolicus was being held and learned the truth of Aniseya's involvement from him during interrogation.[2]
Personality and traits
Orlut had grey skin and black eyes enhanced with cyborged optic nerve fortification that allowed her much better vision then her eyes would naturally allow.[1]
Equipment
While imprisoned, Orlut wore brown robers, with darker brown pants, black boots and a brown hat. She also wore a brown sash with pockets concealed inside where she kept lockpicking tools prior to her arrest. A hidden dagger sheath on her right ankle was also emptied during her imprisonment.[1]
Behind the scenes
Orlut appeared in "Lost / Found,"[2] the first episode of the television series Star Wars: The Acolyte, which aired June 4, 2024 on Disney+.[4] The prison ship and Jedi Temple scenes were filmed at Shinfield Studios,[5] England.[6] The character was first identified in a preview for the 2025 reference book Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Visual Guide, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
