The Shorwilts were a sentient species that existed in the galaxy. Tor Bez'lin was a member of this species.
Biology and appearance
Shorwilts[2] were a large humanoid species distinguished by their blue and tan textured skin, wide features, blubbery necks, large mouths, and wide-set eyes and nostrils. They had distinct prehensile tentacles that were normally attached to their backs and the tops of their heads, blending in with the rest of their skin, though they could peel back, detach, and extend them, able to grab and constrain things with the appendage's slimy, spiky surface.[1]
Shorwilts in the galaxy
By 132 BBY,[3] a member of this species, Tor Bez'lin,[2] had been arrested and detained by the Galactic Republic. Bez'lin briefly escaped custody alongside other inmates, but was re-arrested by the Jedi Order shortly thereafter.[1]
Behind the scenes
The species made their debut in the first episode of the 2024 television series Star Wars: The Acolyte, directed by Leslye Headland.[1]
