"Only Droids Serve the Maker" is a short story written by Kathy Tyers with illustrations by Matt Busch and Mike Vilardi. It was published in Star Wars Adventure Journal 10 in May 1996 by West End Games before being made available online at Hyperspace on January 11, 2007.

It is the third installment in the series of short stories involving Tinian I'att and Daye Azur-Jamin.

Plot summary

After the attack on Silver Station that cut off his bacta treatment Daye Azur-Jamin—now reliant on cybernetics—joins Rebel gunrunners Woyiq and Toalar. While on a mission to Monor II, the trio is intercepted by an Imperial vessel as they attempt to drop a message pod to the Sunesi resistance, revealing the location of a hidden weapons cache.

Under the command of the new Imperial administrator Brago, who wishes to deal with the Sunesi and their allies by force, Lieutenant Karr takes the trio into custody for termination. In his cell, two troopers start dismantling Azur-Jamin's cybernetics, leaving him blinded and crippled.

The captives are later rescued by Rebel spy Urek, along with two Sunesi operatives and a protocol droid. One of the Sunesi, Nee, shows Azur-Jamin how to heal himself using the Force, enabling him to restore his sight. They are then taken to the Sunesi's village.

Meanwhile, bounty hunters Tinian I'att and Chenlambec tracked down Agapos IX, the Sunesi leader on whom the Imperials have placed a death mark. They locate him in a hidden bunker and capture him after stunning his guards.

Although the Sunesi initially want to pursue the two bounty hunters, Azur-Jamin recognizes their ship and convinces the Sunesi to stand down - he suspects the two may be working undercover for the Rebellion. His intuition is correct: Chenlambec helps the Rebellion as a bounty hunter by faking the deaths of Rebel leaders and getting them out of the Imperial eye. He then presents "proof" of his kill in the form of cloned tissue and claims their bounty.

Azur-Jamin follows the bounty hunters to Tekra Station, where he reunites with Agapos.
