Neimoidian battle droid

Neimoidian battle droids were types of battle droids that served the Neimoidian species. The simplest of such droids were based upon a skeletal body structure. These simple units could also fold up and quickly be sent into combat. As such, the B1-series battle droid, including its OOM-series^[1] mark,^[17] was considered one of the simplest Neimoidian battle droids.^[1] The B1 had been designed by the Geonosians in their own image^[18] and with the specific intention to make the final result resemble a skeletal Geonosian.^[19] It was believed a resemblance to walking skeletons would scare enemies who saw B1s approaching them in a march.^[1]

Early versions of the B1 model required a connection to a Central Control Computer to function,^[20] which was inspired by the hierarchical structure Neimoidians lived under^[21] and as a way to save on costs.^[1]
