The Mourushia system was a star system in the Barsa sector of the Mid Rim that lay in grid square J-6 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] The sapient Mourushian Kelp[2] were native to the system.[3] During the reign of the Galactic Republic,[2] which ended in 19 BBY,[4] the Republic political figure Lady Hasquil acknowledged the sapient rights of the Mourushian Kelp and was cocooned for fifty years as a result.[2]

The Mourushia system was mentioned in[1] an October 13, 2025[5] update to "Star Systems of the Galaxy," the appendix to the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com.[1] Both works were authored by Jason Fry.[5]
