Around 231 BBY, during the High Republic Era, a mission to the astronomical object Yisbon Minor was carried out by the Jedi Knight Nib Assek and her Jedi Padawan Burryaga Agaburry of the Jedi Order. The mission was to rescue settlers that had been affected by overwhelming floods. As she and Agaburry helped citizens into rescue ships that had accompanied the two Jedi, Assek hurt her knee.

After they tied their cloaks together, Agaburry carried his Master across his chest. Agaburry recalled the mission in 228 BBY as he attended a service honoring the fallen Jedi High Council members of the Jedi and Galactic Republic's ongoing conflict with the Nihil marauders.

Prelude

Around 231 BBY,[1] during the High Republic Era, overwhelming floods occurred on the astronomical object Yisbon Minor.[2]

The mission

The Jedi Order responded to the floods with[2] the human Jedi Knight[3] Nib Assek and her Jedi[2] Padawan—the Wookiee[3] Burryaga Agaburry[4]—undertaking a mission along with rescue ships to help settlers that had been affected by the floods. While the two Jedi were helping citizens into the rescue ships, Assek injured her knee to the point that she was unable to walk. Agaburry and Assek then tied their cloaks together into a sort of makeshift sling, allowing the Wookiee to carry his Master across his chest. The two laughed about what the Padawan did.[2]

Aftermath

Burryaga Agaburry (pictured) remembered the mission during a service at the Jedi Temple.

In 230 BBY,[1] Assek died during the destruction of[2] the Galactic Republic's[3] space station Starlight Beacon. After her passing, Agaburry often dreamt that he still carried her like he had during the Yisbon Minor mission.[2]

In 228 BBY,[5] a service was held at the Jedi Temple on[2] the Core Worlds[3] planet Coruscant that honored the members of the Jedi High Council that had fallen during the ongoing conflict the Order and Republic were engaged in against the Nihil marauders. While attending the service, Agaburry[2]—by then a Jedi Knight[6]—mentally recalled his mission to Yisbon Minor with his Master, noting that Assek had been so small and the weight of carrying her had been nothing to him. He then recalled the dreams of carrying Assek that he had.[2]

Behind the scenes

The mission to Yisbon Minor was mentioned in the 2025 young-adult novel The High Republic: Into the Light, written by Claudia Gray as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[2] Phase III.[7]

  5. Star Wars: Timelines dates Starlight Beacon's destruction to 230 BBY. The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic Adventures (2023) 16, which features the Stormwall going down, takes place one year and a few months after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, it must be set in 228 BBY. The events of The High Republic: Tears of the Nameless also take place in 228 BBY per the reasoning here. As The High Republic: Into the Light states its events occur after the events of Tears of the Nameless and before the Stormwall goes down, they must also take place in that year.
