A mission was undertaken to the planet Sinsara by Jedi Master Mace Windu and Jedi Knight Aayla Secura to find an antidote for the Emubara poison that had been administered to Qui-Gon Jinn by Corlis Rath on Mina-Rau[1] between 40 BBY and 34 BBY.[2] Upon learning the name Sinsara, the two Jedi Masters travel to the planet to find a civilisation that despises the Jedi, but guides them in the direction to the equally despised group called The Banished.[1]
Meeting the King of The Banished, he agrees to provide them with the antidote for the toxin, as long as they kill a kaijura that was brought to the planet years ago and seasonally kills the people of Sinsara. Slaying the creature, who was suffering from being removed from its natural habitat, they are given the antidote they needed. Taking Qui-Gon back to Coruscant, he is saved from the toxin, but with severe injuries he is placed into a medically induced coma for the foreseeable future.

- ↑ 2.0 2.1 Jedi Knights 1 states the events of Star Wars: Jedi Knights take place during the time Finis Valorum is Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic, while Jedi Knights 5 establishes the series is set at least two years before the Battle of Naboo. As Star Wars Propaganda: A History of Persuasive Art in the Galaxy states that a Supreme Chancellor served four-year terms, and the flashback section of Tarkin that mentions Valorum's re-election is dated to 36 BBY by Star Wars: Timelines, Valorum must have begun serving as Chancellor in 40 BBY. Timelines also dates the Battle of Naboo to 32 BBY, meaning Jedi Knights must take place between 40 BBY and 34 BBY.
