- "What happened?"
"Our sun." - ―Mace Windu and KinShan Nightbird
A star in the Outer Rim was the sun of the planet Metagos. Every several thousand years, the star underwent a solar disturbance.[1] Around 72 BBY,[3] one such solar storm, known as the Great Storm, washed its system with radiation, turning Metagos's surface into glass. Billions on Metagos were killed, with the survivors retreating underground. The solar flare lasted for thirty years, and even fifty years later, the radiation on the surface was still lethal, and storms scoured the surface during the day.[1]
