Massoss was a planet of the Chiss Ascendancy in the Unknown Regions, located within a system of the same name.[1]

History

In 50 BBY,[3] a breakaway alien sect threatened Coduyo family holdings on Massoss. As the Chiss Defense Force could not spare any warships to stop the invasion, the family declared a family emergency, allowing them to recall Coduyo family officers and warriors from the Defense Force. They were able to gather three hundred Coduyo family personnel and reactivated an old light cruiser before quickly driving off the invading aliens.[1]

Later, during the Lioaoin Regime's turn to piracy, Massoss would be attacked by Lioaoin pirates. [4]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, Massoss was mentioned in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Greater Good, the second installment of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the planet Massoss was introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.[5]
