Massoss was a planet[2] located in the Massoss system, a part of the Chiss Space area of the Unknown Regions.[1] The Phalanx Route hyperlane linked it to the planet Cormit. Massoss was an outlying colony of the sentient Chiss species and was home to one of the Ruling Families that ruled over the Chiss Ascendancy, the government of the Chiss.[2]

At some point by 28 ABY, the Ruling Family of Massoss employed hives of the sentient Killiks as a work force. As a result, the Family fell out of power that year and its members became Joiners—a part of the Killiks' hive-mind.[2]

Behind the scenes

Massoss was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square G-8.[2]
