- "Similar factory construction and mining processes undertaken on Malador—around the date 14 BBY—left the atmosphere effectively unbreathable, and the wealthiest inhabitants of the planet abandoned it."
- ―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
Malador was a terrestrial planet[3] located in the Malador system of the Juvex sector in the Mid Rim Territories[1] and Western Reaches.[2] It fell within grid square L-17 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] The Galactic Empire constructed factories and undertook mining processes on Malador in around 14 BBY similar to those used on the planet Reuss VIII. This caused Malador's atmosphere to become effectively unbreathable, which led to the world's wealthiest inhabitants abandoning it. The historian Beaumont Kin mentioned the planet and the effect of the Empire's actions on it in[3] his[4] book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire[3] in 35 ABY.[5]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, Malador was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, which was written by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[3] The world originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the Gamemaster Toolkit: Live-Action Adventures, a supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game that was written by Anthony Russo and published by West End Games in 1996.[6]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire states that thirty years have passed since the end of the Galactic Civil War and months have passed since the Battle of Exegol. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the end of the war to 5 ABY and the Battle of Exegol to 35 ABY, the in-universe The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire must have been published in 35 ABY.
