- "Will you forget it? I already tried it. It's magnetically sealed!"
- ―Luke Skywalker, to Han Solo
A magnetic seal was a form of magnetic technology that could repel blaster bolts and be applied to an entire room.
History
While breaking out former Vice Admiral Edmon Rampart, Crosshair noticed Rampart's prison door was magnetically sealed so he and Wrecker initiated Plan 55 and used the magnetic seal to cause a ricochet blaster bolt to hit the guards.[2] The Ore crawler, Crawler 413-24, had a door that was magnetically sealed, preventing Kanan Jarrus from using his lightsaber to cut his way in to stop Seevor.[3] The cargo container on All Terrain Armored Cargo Transports was magnetically sealed.[4] The doors and walls of the garbage compactors located aboard the Death Star were magnetically sealed, as Corellian smuggler Han Solo discovered when he tried to fire at the hatch of one of the mashers and his blaster bolt ricocheted wildly around the metal room, nearly hitting him and his companions.[1] Vintians could choose to become magnetically sealed.[5] During a pirate raid, pirate captain Silvo ordered his crew to use an arc welder to bypass the magnetically sealed vault.[6]
