The M'haeli system was a star system located in the Majoor sector of the Expansion Region[1] and Trailing Sectors.[2] It was located in grid square N-15 on the Standard Galactic Grid[1] and contained the agriworld M'haeli, where dragite gems were mined in the D'olop mountain range for use in lightsaber construction.[3]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the M'haeli system was first mentioned as just "M'haeli" on a map of the galaxy included in the 2016 Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a Star Wars Roleplaying box set published by Fantasy Flight Games.[4] It was identified as the M'haeli system for the first time in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published alongside the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both were written by Jason Fry.[5]
The system originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in the first issue of the Star Wars: River of Chaos comic book series, which was written by Louise Simonson, illustrated by June Brigman, and published by Dark Horse Comics[6] on June 6, 1995.[7] It was then identified as the Plynn system in the 1998 reference book The Essential Guide to Planets and Moons, which was written by Daniel Wallace,[8] before receiving the alternate name "M'haeli system" in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which was written by Wallace and Fry.[9]
