Lantern birds were a species of bird native to the moon of Endor. They were hunted by the aggressive, sentient Dulok species, who were also native to the moon.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current canon, lantern birds were first introduced in the 2015 reference book Ultimate Star Wars.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the birds first appeared in The Adventures of Teebo: A Tale of Magic and Suspense, a 1984 novel written by Joe Johnston.[3]
