The Ktil system was located in the Ktilac Regions sector of the Inner Rim Territories in grid square N-9 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] In 34 ABY,[3] several screens aboard Chandrila Star Line's Star Cruiser Halcyon displayed a partial map of the galaxy that indicated the Ktil system's position.[4]
Behind the scenes
The Ktil system was introduced in the current Star Wars canon in "The History of Neimoidia,"[5] an article written by Mark Newbold[6] and included in the "Guide to the Galaxy" department of the fifty-second issue of the Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine[5] that was published around December 30, 2015.[7] The system's first in-universe appearance came in the form of being depicted on a map viewable in Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive two-day roleplaying experience at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida[4] that opened to the public on March 1, 2022[8] and was launched for the final time on September 28, 2023.[9] It was then identified by name in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[2] on June 24, 2025. Both works were authored by Jason Fry.[10] The Ktil system was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.[11]
