Koke Frost was a large shipyard and spaceport in Wild Space. In 3 ABY, a nameless human male strandcast of Emperor Palpatine fled the planet Exegol to Koke Frost. To join one of many ship crews he found in the busy spaceport, the boy chose the name Dathan.
Description
Koke Frost was a large shipyard[2] in Wild Space's Koke Frost system[1] near the Unknown Regions[3] that accommodated heavy industry.[2] It lay in grid square H-7 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] Also a spaceport, it was dirty, busy, and filled with people of many species working on a fleet-sized number of starships.[2]
History
In 3 ABY,[4] a human boy who was the strandcast and genetic son of Emperor Palpatine fled his home planet Exegol by stowing away in a ship ferrying Sith Lord Darth Vader and Sith assassin Ochi. The boy was eventually smuggled out of the ship and onto Koke Frost. Shocked by the spaceport's size and scale, the nameless boy snuck around and eavesdropped on many ship crews, eventually finding a sunscooper with a desperate captain in need of an engine crew to finish his commission. The captain hired the boy immediately, but required his name to fill the register. The boy chose the name Dathan, taken from a Symeong on Exegol who had been kind to him. Years later,[2] in 21 ABY,[5] the space station Nightside reminded Dathan of Koke Frost.[2]
Behind the scenes
Koke Frost appeared in flashbacks in Adam Christopher's 2022 novel Shadow of the Sith.[2] The October 13, 2025 iteration of the Star Systems of the Galaxy adjusted the system's grid placement from I-7 to H-7 to match its placement on other maps.[6]
