The Koda Spur was a hyperspace route that ran from Koda Station of the Wazta sector eastward toward the Corellian Trade Spine, terminating at the plant Lutrillia of the Greater Javin sector. Much of the route was in the Wazta sector, including the planets Thune and Lotho Minor, with portions in both the Outer Rim Territories and Wild Space.

Description

The Koda Spur was a hyperspace route[5] that ran from Koda Station in the Outer Rim Territories[1] eastward toward the Corellian Trade Spine.[5] Much of it passed through the Wazta sector, ending in the Greater Javin's Lutrillia system.[4] It passed through the Ryoone system,[6] the Wild Space planet[2] Thune, and the Outer Rim[1] planet[7] Lotho Minor[1] in Lotho Minor system[7] before terminating at[1] the planet[8] Lutrillia, which was linked to the Corellian Trade Spine by another route.[1] The planet Vassek in the Vassek system of the Wazta sector was far enough of the Koda Spur to ensure that it did not receive many visitors.[9]

History

In 20 BBY,[10] a Terrapin-class Bulk Tanker was traveling between the planets Stobar and Lotho Minor when it was hijacked near the Koda Spur by the dark side warrior Savage Opress.[7] During the Galactic Civil War, a repainted TIE fighter was rumored to have been seen along the Koda Spur.[11] Around 5 ABY,[12] while searching for activity of the Galactic Empire's 204th Imperial Fighter Wing, the New Republic Intelligence agent Caern Adan and Lieutenant Yrica Quell reviewed the supposed sighting aboard the Acclamator-class transgalactic military assault ship Lodestar.[11]

In 34 ABY,[13] the Koda Spur was included on a partial map of the galaxy displayed on screens on board Chandrila Star Line's Star Cruiser Halcyon while it traveled from the Core Worlds' Chandrila system to the Outer Rim Territories.[14]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Koda Spur was first pictured on a map in "Where in the Galaxy Are the Worlds of Star Wars: The Force Awakens?," a blog post on StarWars.com written by Mark Newbold and published on January 29, 2016.[15] It was then first identified in the sixty-fifth issue of the Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine,[9] published around March 30, 2016.[16] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Koda Spur was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which was written by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace.[17]

Same galaxy, same map. In the rare event something needs to be changed, it will be discussed. (In response to: Hi @jasoncfry.bsky.social, was hoping you could confirm for Wookieepedia purposes that the hyperspace routes depicted on the Galaxy Map given out at Celebration are intended to be the same routes as in Legends. Sorry to bother, but would make our lives much easier to have it confirmed!)" (screenshot).
