"I was kidnapped by a local group who wanted my mother to agitate for stronger trade controls in the Senate."
"You were kidnapped? That's terrible."
"Yeah, it wasn't great. My uncles found me and killed the people who had taken me, but my mother was upset when she found out. So she took me with her everywhere after that."
―Avon Starros and Honesty Weft[1]

By 235 BBY,[2] the human female Avon Starros was kidnapped by a local group after she snuck out of the family's compound on[1] the planet[3] Hosnian Prime. The group kidnapped Avon as they wanted her mother—the Galactic Republic junior senator Ghirra Starros—to agitate for stronger trade controls in the Galactic Senate.[1] During the kidnapping, Avon was forced by the group to speak into a holorecorder to demand a ransom.[4] Eventually, the girl was found by her uncles, who killed the kidnappers. Following the event, Avon visited an emotional-support droid, and her mother became overprotective of her, forcing Avon to accompany her everywhere she went until she eventually sent Avon to the outpost Port Haileap on the planet Haileap.[1]
