Therapy droids,[1] also known as an emotional-support droid,[2] were a class of droids used to service recovering hospital patients. One prototype therapy droid was QT-9; who was given to the former New Republic soldier Dade Hetkins after he was discharged from a New Republic veterans' hospital in Darropolis on the planet Hosnian Prime[1] in 5 ABY.[3]
