According to legend, a Jedi temple of the Jedi Order was located on[1] the Inner Rim[2] astronomical object Bathoris.[1] At some point between around 5000 BBY and before 1032 BBY,[3] a rare fragment of a fresco relating to the ancients and their use of the Force was uncovered during a Jedi expedition and transferred to the temple. When the Sith Lord Darth Caldoth learned of the fragment, he launched a surprise attack on the temple to steal it. Caldoth came close to obtaining the artifact, killing many Jedi Temple Guards and several Jedi Knights. However, the Jedi Knight Bran Ath'Morath was able to repel Caldoth from the temple's inner sanctum and keep him locked in a duel until more Jedi rallied and forced him to retreat. Years later, Caldoth lured Ath'Morath away from the temple on Bathoris by attacking the planet Kizan, where he was able to kill the Jedi.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Jedi temple appeared in flashbacks in the short story "The Gilded Cage," which was published in the 2020 short story collection Dark Legends, written by George Mann.[1]

  3. The events of "The Gilded Cage" include Darth Caldoth as a Sith Lord known by the Jedi Order. Therefore, the events of the story must take place after the formation of the Sith and before the Jedi believed the Sith to be defeated. As Star Wars: Timelines dates those events to around 5000 BBY and 1032 BBY, respectively, the story must take place between those years. As Caldoth's attack on Bathoris takes place years before the last part of the story, his attack must also occur before 1032 BBY.
