Jawenko lava beast

"Great Jawenko, Mace, where did you get this?"

The Jawenko lava beasts were a creature native to Mustafar. It naturally produced Nkllonian lava extract from liquid xonolite.^[1]

One such creature stranded on Tatooine gave basis to a Jawa and Sand People deity named "Great Jawenko."^[3] After a massacre against the Rrhr hunting band of Tusken Raiders by the Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker in retribution of the death of his mother, Shmi Skywalker Lars, in 22 BBY, the Tuskens proceeded to believe that Shmi may have in fact been a witch that was the mate of the Great Jawenko.

The Jawenko Beast is the boss of "Level 4: Inside the Sandcrawler" in the Super Nintendo game Super Star Wars. On Tatooine, a lava beast was the pet of the diminutive Jawas. Contained in the furnace on the lower levels of the Jawa sandcrawler, the giant, dragon-like creature would fire searing flames, guarding the captive droid R2-D2 from intruders. For this reason, Luke Skywalker killed the beast in combat while jumping between precarious platforms over a flow of molten lava.^[2]The Jawenko was also featured in The Void and ILMxLAB's Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire VR experience, taking place on Mustafar. It is encountered when you are trapped on an outer skiff, following a stormtrooper battle.
