Holpern was a terrestrial astronomical object[3] located in the Holpern system within the Arkanis sector of the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the Slice.[2] It was situated in grid square R-16 of the Standard Galactic Grid[1] and was home to large tree cows.[3]

By around 161 BBY,[4] during the High Republic Era, the human Jedi Padawan Indara had visited Holpern and gasped in wonder at the tree cows.[3] Around 160 BBY,[4] when Indara was a Jedi Knight and traveled to[3] the Outer Rim[5] planet Ingae, she mentally recalled her travels to various locations including Holpern, but noted those travels had not prepared her for Ingae's beauty.[3]

Behind the scenes

Holpern was mentioned in The Acolyte: Wayseeker, a 2025 novel written by Justina Ireland.[3]

  4. 4.0 4.1 The events of The Acolyte: Wayseeker take place around 160 BBY per the reasoning here. The Acolyte: Wayseeker states that Indara visited Holpern before she was involved in the Farlingan Collapse, which occurred a year before the novel's events. Therefore, Indara must have traveled to Holpern by around 161 BBY.
