Grandak was a terrestrial astronomical object[3] located in the Grandak system within the Cronese Mandate of the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the Slice.[2] It was situated in grid square S-6 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] By around 160 BBY,[4] during the High Republic Era, the Mirialan Jedi Vernestra Rwoh witnessed humans fight over ore during a visit she undertook to Grandak.[3]
Around that year,[4] Rwoh—by then a Jedi Master traveling the galaxy as a Jedi Wayseeker—was drawn to the planet Cerifisis by the Force where rations were being stolen by pirates. While the Mirialan prepared to confront the pirates, she thought about the galactic truth that where there was something of worth, there were those who would do anything to acquire it, seeing the humans fighting over the ore on Grandak as an example of that truth.[3]
