- "Gavi's skimboard would come in handy right about now."
- ―Tep Tep
Gavi's skimboard was a skimboard owned by the Jedi youngling[1] Gavi Takitaken[2] who grew up on the Outer Rim[3] planet Valo with his friends and fellow Jedi younglings Kildo and Tep Tep.[1] In 228 BBY,[4] sometime after they had left Valo, Tep Tep and Kildo took part in a mission on the Outer Rim planet Palagosal along with Jedi Master Ada-Li Carro, Jedi youngling Jamil Sollis, Republic Defense Coalition Ensign Welga, the Greylark family member Zenny Greylark, and the Hutt Churo. While on Palagosal, they came across a steep drop and Greylark asked how they would get down it without breaking their necks. Afterward, Tep Tep tugged on the sleeve of Kildo's robe and stated that Gavi's skimboard would have been useful for them at that time, before Kildo proposed they slide down the drop using stone skimboards, an idea they used.[1]
Behind the scenes
Gavis's skimboard was mentioned in the 2024 junior novel The High Republic: Beware the Nameless, written by Zoraida Córdova and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III.[5]

As The High Republic: Beware the Nameless takes place one and a half years after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, it must be set in 228 BBY.
