A skimboard,[1] also known as a hoverboard,[2] was a form of personal transport that consisted of a long metal board that hovered above the ground. Its user, referred to as a skim surfer, rode it in a standing position.[1]
Toy versions known as gravboards also existed that were small enough that a child could ride on, presumably through anti-gravity. When she was three years old, the human girl Jyn Erso had one, though her mother worried that she should not have brought it to the facility where her husband Galen worked at.[3]
